SMC Grandopening Week is taking place from September 19th through September 24th. There are many events you can take part in, as well as guided tours of the new building. We are very excited to show off our new facility and welcome everyone to attend. Details of the event can be seen here. The Student Memorial Center (SMC, pronounced “Smack”) is the heart of campus life at Millersville University. The SMC offers a broad array of services including:
The facility is a second home to many students who spend time there studying, attending one of the many programs offered, or just hanging out with friends.
SMC RenovationsBeginning in May 2009, the SMC began a $30 million renovation and expansion project that included the addition of the upstairs portion of the fitness center, the Marauder Courts, running/walking track, the new Center for Student Involvement and Leadership area, the new Information Desk and the Robert L. Slabinski Atrium and Clock Tower. Not only was the SMC expanded but most other areas were also refurbished. We invite you to check out pictures and stores about the renovation on our blog. Reserve a Meeting RoomFor events that hold up to 400 patrons the Reighard Multi-Purpose Room (MPR) is available. The MPR can be set up to accommodate the needs of the organization. Located adjacent to the MPR is the pre-function room. This room can function as a small lounge, dressing room or food servery. Reservations for the pre-function room are taken separately from the MPR. Please indicate when making a reservation for the MPR if you would like the pre-function lounge. Located within close proximity to the SMC Information Desk and the MPR is the Atrium lounge. There are many comfortable chairs to relax with a great view of campus. Located on the ground floor is the Club De’Ville. Both open lounges may be reserved for events. These general meeting rooms are great for meetings or small presentations. Room 24 also has a wonderful projections and surround sound system. In addition to the rooms there are four (4) student organization vendor table locations available. Two (2) tables are located within the SMC within close proximity to the MPR, one table is located outside of the SMC clock tower entrance, and one is located at the Lyle Lobby, North Side Bistro. These rooms and tables are reserved on a first come first serve basis. To reserve any of these rooms please contact the Information Desk at (717) 872-3510. For audio/technical assistance please contact Technical Operations at least five (5) business days before your event.
