Event Information

Undergraduate Candidates

  • Important Dates

    • Rehearsal: Thursday, May 8, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. in Pucillo Gymnasium.
    • Undergraduate Commencement Ceremony: Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Biemesderfer Stadium.
    • In the event of severe/inclement weather, there will be two (2) indoor ceremonies in Pucillo Gymnasium:
      • School of Humanities & Social Sciences majors at 10:00 a.m.
      • School of Education along with School of Science & Mathematics at 2:00 p.m.
      • See INCLEMENT WEATHER section below for more information.
  • General Outdoor Ceremony Information

    • General admission tickets are NOT required if the ceremony is held outside.
    • Special needs guests will need to obtain a ticket for an outside or inside ceremony (see Special Needs Seating section below).
    • All participants must wear flat-soled shoes to prevent damage to artificial surface. Shoes with a heel will NOT be permitted on the field.
    • Graduates must present a photo ID when picking up their tickets.

  • Inclement Weather Information

    • All UNDERGRADUATE candidates will receive three (3) RAIN PLAN tickets in the event the UNDERGRADUATE ceremony is held inside.
    • A photo I.D. is required to pick up tickets.  MU I.D. or Driver’s License will be accepted.
    • All UNDERGRADUATE candidates are encouraged to pick up their RAIN PLAN tickets.
    • In the event of severe or inclement weather, please check the University homepage at www.millersville.edu for updates on the ceremony or other appropriate media source.
  • Special Needs Seating

    • Graduates with family members attending the ceremony who require special needs seating (i.e., cannot climb stairs or are in a wheelchair) will have the ability to be seated in an handicap accessible area.
    • Tickets are required for this seating area.  One (1) ticket per special needs guest and one (1) companion ticket will be available for seating in the special needs seating area at the stadium.  One (1) ticket per special needs guest will be issued in the ceremony is moved indoors due to severe/inclement weather.

    • Special needs tickets are available for pick up at the SMC Ticket Office for graduate candidates only.
  • Alternate Site Viewing

    • Student Memorial Center Multi-Purpose Room will be open for a live broadcast of the ceremony.
    • This site is ideal for individuals who are limited with mobility, who have young children, require frequent trips to the restroom, or will be more comfortable in a less crowded space.
    • Tickets are NOT required for this location and is open to all.

    PLEASE NOTE:  Tickets will be available for pick up at the SMC Ticket Office, Room 103.

    • Monday, April 28 from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
    • Tuesday, April 29 from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
    • Wednesday, April 30 from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
    • Thursday, May 1 from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
    • Friday, May 2 from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
    • Saturday, May 3 from 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. 
    • Monday, May 5 from 8:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
    • Tuesday, May 6 from 8:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
    • Wednesday, May 7 from 8:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
    • Thursday, May 8  — LAST DAY TO PICK UP TICKETS:
      • 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. (SMC Room 103)
      • 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. (PUCILLO GYM, Room 211)

Master Degree Candidates

  • Important Dates

    • Rehearsal: Thursday, May 8, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. in Pucillo Gymnasium.
    • College of Graduate & Professional Studies Commencement Ceremony: Friday, May 9, 2014.

  • General Information

    • No tickets are required for guests to attend the College of Graduate & Professional Studies ceremony.
    • Special needs seating will be available.  Please see an Event Staff worker for assistance upon arrival at Pucillo Gymnasium.

      Hi Aesha: Extra tickets, IF AVAILABLE, will be distributed at Rehearsal on 12/13/13. Rehearsal is Friday, December 13, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. in Pucillo Gymnasium. In addition, the Student Memorial Center Multi-Purpose Room will be open for a live broadcast of the ceremony. This site is ideal for individuals who are limited with mobility, who have young children, require frequent trips to the restroom, or will be more comfortable in a less crowded space.     Do I request extra tickets in advance and how or does the student just ask at rehearsal?

      Hi Terri, We will not know until the afternoon of rehearsal if we will have extra tickets to distribute. An announcement will be made during rehearsal and instructions will follow on pick up procedures. Everything takes place at rehearsal and ticket distribution will happen after rehearsal is completed if we can do it. As a reminder, the Student Memorial Center will be open for a live broadcast as well as streaming online via the MU website for guests unable to travel or obtain tickets.
