PATT 2017 will celebrate the creative nature of technology & engineering education. We invite colleagues from around the globe to submit abstracts that present research and/or developmental work related to teaching about technology and engineering through creative endeavors.
Full Conference Registration
Full conference registration is for conference presenters and attendees. In addition to conference attendance it includes access to the kick-off social hour on Monday evening, breakfast, lunch and coffee breaks Tuesday through Friday, the cultural excursion and dinner on Wednesday afternoon/evening, and a ticket to the PATT formal dinner at City Tavern on Thursday evening. Book lodging separately below.
One Day Conference Registration
This registration entitles you to attend the conference for one day only including lunch and snacks served during coffee breaks. It does not cover breakfast, the Wednesday afternoon excursion or Thursday evening dinner.

Technology & Engineering Education: Fostering the Creativity of Youth Throughout the World
PATT 2017 will celebrate the creative nature of technology & engineering education. We invite colleagues from throughout the world to submit abstracts that present research and/or developmental work related to teaching about technology and engineering through creative endeavors. Four subthemes have been identified as follows:
- Innovative research in technology & engineering education
- Creativity and design in technology and engineering
- Making the case for technology & engineering education
- Assessing impacts of technology & engineering education on students
Submission deadline for papers is May 15, 2017
What to include
- Author Information including:
- Full name
- Full mailing address
- E-mail address
- Author’s photo in jpeg format
- Abstract in English (300 words maximum that reflect the full paper)
- Keywords in English
- Full paper length: (3000 word limit, excluding author information and summary)
- Author Information including:
Authors are asked to use the 6th edition APA style guide for citations and references. The editors reserve the right to make changes in accepted manuscripts for clarification and space considerations.
- Use 11 point, Arial font
- Use single spacing
- Double space between paragraphs
- Use full-width justification
- Use English only
- Include an abstract in English of no more than 300 words
Please DO NOT:
- Use footnotes or endnotes
- List any references not cited in the text
- Use headers and footers
For the final submission, the title should be followed by the author’s name, institution and e-mail address. While the editors strive for accuracy, it is the author’s responsibility to ensure that all factual, stylistic and grammatical errors are corrected prior to publication.

Conference ProceedingsAll papers will be published in the Electronic Proceedings that will be posted on the conference website approximately 10 days before the conference. Conference proceedings will be available in published form at the time of the conference. All conference proceedings will be archived with the International Technology & Engineering Educators Association
The PATT 2017 conference will be held at the Arch Street Meeting House, a historic Quaker Meeting House in the historic district of Philadelphia.
The Wyndham is the designated conference hotel. (215) 923-8660 It is located across the street from the conference location. We have some rooms with king beds reserved and some with two queens reserved under PATT 2017. It is the same price per room for 1-4 guests (rooms with King beds can only handle two guests or two guests and one child), so bring your colleagues, family, friends, etc. Rooms include:

Arriving by PlanePlan to arrive at Philadelphia International Airport on Monday, July 10, 2017. Take rail from the airport to center city. Take any train to the main Philadelphia rail terminal at 30th street, then ask at the station where to take a free rail transfer to Jefferson station, the second stop from 30th street station. Jefferson station is at 11th and Arch streets. The Wyndham conference hotel is located at 400 Arch Street. You can walk down Arch Street from 11th to 4th streets, or you can take a short cab ride.
Arriving by RailTake any Amtrak or local train to the 30th street station. Ask where to take a free rail transfer to Jefferson station, the second stop from 30th street station. Arriving by CarUse your GPS to guide you to the Wyndham hotel in the Philadelphia Historic District, 400 Arch Street. Be aware that parking in Philadelphia is expensive. Let us know ahead of time if you plan to arrive by car and we will provide you with the most economical parking accommodations.
